Knights Participate in Parish Ministry Fair

On Sunday, September 21, 2008, St. Patricks Pastoral Council sponsored a Ministry Fair for all active ministries of the church. The Knights of Columbus Council 10925 took advantage of this golden opportunity to display their message of Charity, Unity, Fraternity and Patriotism and support for the Church and Community. This turned out to be an especially rewarding experience as four young men expressed interest in becoming knights and many more left with literature about the Knights of Columbus. Pictured above are (from left to right) Francisco Garcia, Membership Director; Joe Syms, Grand Knight; and Tim Mahar, Chancellor. Founded over 126 years ago, in March 1882, by Father Michael McGivney, the Knights of Columbus is the world's largest lay Catholic organization with over1.75 million members in the United States, Canada, the Phillipines, Mexico, Central America, and Poland. The results of the Order's Annual Survey of Fraternal Activity for the year ending December 2007 show that total contributions to charity at all levels reached $144,911,781. The survey also reported that the number of volunteer hours by Knights for charitable causes grew to 68,695,768 hours. There were more than 393,030 Knights of Columbus blood donors during the year, and the Knights made more than 5.5 milliion visits to the sick and bereaved.
