Pancake Breakfast Scores With Hungry Parishioners

The St. Patricks Knights of Columbus Council 10925 hosted a pancake breakfast on April 26, 2009, featuring their renowned "light and fluffy" pancakes, scrambled eggs, bacon and sausage. The Lord smiled and blessed us with beautiful weather as the good parishioners of St. Patricks enjoyed their meal. Among those spotted in the crowd were Father Ike, Grand Knight Joe Syms and Deacon Heames. Thanks and congratulations go to the hard working kitchen crew - head chef Jesse Betancourt, chairman Jose Cortez, Johnny Betancourt, and Paul Szuszkiewicz - and to all those faithful knights who assisted in the setup, serving, and cleanup. The event netted $690.00 for the Council General fund.

Past Grand Knight Russell Sikes is the sponsor for the Squires Circle and is to be commended for his efforts in organizing the Circle. He is now in the process of organizing a Rose Squires Circle for young ladies who wish to serve the church and community.

Knights Host Another Successful Blood Drive

The St. Patrick's Knights of Columbus Council 10925 hosted another successful blood drive at St. Patricks on 2 May 2009. Blood Drive Chairman Victor Bengard reported that 53 pints of blood were received this year, topping last year's total by 3 pints. The donations will go into an account with Life Stream for St. Patricks Parish to aid any parishioner in need of blood.
